Kickin’ Ankle Booties
Ankle booties bring a few words to mind: 80s, mini skirts, FABULOUS! Don’t worry, I’m not stuck back in the days of St. Elmo’s Fire. But seriously, I think the bootie look for fall is absolutely…well I think I’m forced to make up a word in order to accurately describe these boots – scrumtrelescent. They’re scrumtrelescent. And they’re versatile -you can wear them with clothes of many different styles from slacks to swanky dresses. Take this pair from Jimmy Choo at Saks – they come in this great purple color which is very in this season. The heel even has a very cool retro, geometric design! Ah these boots are fabulous….oh, did I mention that already?

Strappy Shoe
What I like most about this shoe from Salvatore Ferragamo is the lucite wedge. The silver and black color combo makes this shoe elegant enough for a romantic dinner date, and the clear wedge makes it just the right amount of casual to break these sandals out for a night of dancing.
DO wear these shoes with a vibrantly colored cocktail dress that has a simple-style, so as not to detract attention from your footwear, which should be the focal point of your outfit with so much going on as far as the funkyness of this shoe’s design!
DON’T wear these shoes with your cutoff grey sweatpants to walk your dog in the morning!

Platform Dive?
Clunk Clunk. Sorry, that’s just all I can think of when I see the cumbersome looking heels of these clodhopper platforms that runway models have been bravely sporting. (And wearing these shoes around all day should definitely be considered a sport!)
I don’t know why, but this shoe design reminds me of a mix between something like the the hind leg of a frog and a coffee mug handle. Has John Galliano perhaps taken the “haute” in haute couture to a new high or are these shoes a platform dive? You tell us!

Very Brode Indeed
It isn’t hard to find beautiful, well-made shoes. Well, not if you’re willing to sell your first-born, your soul, cut down on your dining out, and maybe live on the streets for a few months. Take these lovely Louboutin peep-toe stilettos for example. Yeah, sure, they look like the kind of shoes you’d wear to an 80’s themed flamenco dancer’s bachelorette party, but they’re also gorgeous and just unique enough (just enough) to justify the price. The rich, saturated color, the moorish-moroccan-style black detailing, and the cute toe-cleavage they display make them perfect for what you might call a ‘statement shoe.’ Now, at $1095, clearly I can’t afford them. I’d love to be the most stylish person making a shoe statement while living in a cardboard box—but winter is coming and I just can’t give up my daily bubble baths. I’m just hoping someone with a lot of surplus resources will read this and buy them, because they are definitely a find.
Now, once you buy them, try and find a Billy Idol-loving flamenco dancer to befriend, because you’re going to need a good excuse to wear them out. There’s nothing like having the perfect shoes for the perfect occasion.
Side-note: net a porter (my personal favorite site for ogling designer clothes) also helpfully suggests you pair these shoes with a little black dress and black clutch, but I think you can be a little more creative than that. Maybe an electric-blue clutch, instead.

Penny Loafin’ Around
Hey Dollface, this snazzy 1930s fashion is makin a comeback!
I’m a fan of the timeless, preppy look that Cole Haan has revisited. But don’t underestimate the fun factor of this more traditional fashion. In new vibrant red, green, and blue colors, you can wear these comfy classics with almost anything, whether that’s a pair of khakis, jeans or leggings. This look is far from drab if you spruce it up with a fun pair of stockings. Heck, you can even pull out the plaid skirt and knee socks and revisit your school-girl days with these loafers!
You can find these fab flats, and others like them, at Cole Haan, Kate Spade, Tods, and Neiman Marcus.

Hey Stud!
- Maybe it’s because the buttons are shiny and I can’t help but be attracted to them - whatever the case, I am absolutely in love with the new fall boot styles that incorporate these edgy studded designs! Take these ankle boots by Jessica Simpson for instance - wear these with a pair of skinny jeans, and rock a funky long fitted sweater to get that fun everyday look. Then, dress them up a little with a dark dress and stockings and you’re ready to hit the town!
