Ah, a “sole” mate. I too, have subjected Bostonians to my unpainted toes and keep reminding myself “got to find the time.” So low on the priority 1) under get new company off the ground, 2) DoInk-ing, 3)Tweeting, 4) checking out cool blogs (like this.) Last but not least, 5) slug harvesting my garden. You go, girl!

I find French pedicures (and most French manicures) to be incredibly tacky. Most peole use white polish that looks like White-Out!

Though these shoes may bear a slight resemblance to pointe shoes, anyone who has take even one pointe class will tell you that if you tried to stand en-pointe like that, you’d be on your rump in a heartbeat!

These look more like toys for the bedroom, not Madison Ave footwear!

And, what’s with that gap at the back of the shoe? Wrong size???

Hi Irene,
I feel your pain. I myself wear a size 4 and have never been able to find nice shoes my entire life. Sole Envie shoes will range in size from size 4 all the way to size 12 and we’re going to let YOU design beautiful shoes that are comfortable too. I’ve been told by people in the footwear industry that I shouldn’t use the word “comfort” when talking about Sole Envie because apparently a footwear company is either stylish or comfortable but not both. But I say why not???

I would like to know where I can get beautiful shoes that fit well (soft leather) and are sexy and are reasonably affordable in a size 4 1/2. What is available is either made for children or the leather is as hard as rock or they are ugly as can be. Geriatric and sexy do not mix!!! Can you design small size shoes for those of us who are on our feet all day and be sexy?
Sadly, barefoot!

Being practical is for your 30’s??? Get real - perhaps in my 90’s I’ll be practical! I know women in their 70’s and 80’s who refuse to give up their heels - and they look FABULOUS.

I “commute” in kitten heel (about 1-1/2″) black suede pumps, then change into my real shoes. Wearing sneakers in the subway isn’t brave, it is a fashion faux pas!

I don’t see the problem. Add a couple of caster wheels in the bottom and some gyroscopes and you’ve got the sexiest Seqway pumps ever…Segwiest? Anyway, you could dance all night and never worry about falling over.

Seriously, comfort and sexy shoes do not have to be mutually exclusive but you are wise to acknowledge that the heel height should come down to at least 3″. I’d rather see 2.5″ or less but the point is, it is possible, only through customization I’m afraid. Most factories are set up to produce sexy shoes or comfortable shoes but not both at the same time. We both know that this site is going to change that though.
